a tradition never once betrayed in over 148 years
The Cantina Episcopio winery was founded by Pasquale Palumbo in 1860; handed down over the years from father to son through four generations to the great-grandson, Marco Vuilleumier. Our wines are infused with the atmosphere of our coast. We would like to imagine that even in the darkness of our winery – a ‘place of seasons” and a treasure trove of tastes and bouquets - our wines have managed to preserve the variegated character of our landscape.
We still make wine from local grapes: Ginestrella, Pepella, San Nicola, Biancazita e Biancatenera for the white wines; Aglianico, Serpentaria e Piedirosso for red wines.
Currently we produce around 20,000 bottles per year- exclusively from our grapes in the San Lorenzo vineyards.
